The Association Amici del NMWA wants to pursue an activity as to be present in Italy with continuous and regular events, addressed to Associates and to a larger public.

Amici del NMWA have already achieved with great success some interesting cultural events.

SUMMARY :

·September 22nd, 2004:
Presentation of the National Museum of Woman in the Arts and of the Associazione Amici del NMWA in Milan, at the Società del Giardino; dinner reception.

·March 21 st, 2005:
Performance of the monologue “Il Veleno, l’Arte” (the Poison, the Art) written by Davide Rondoni for Iaia Forte, at the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia “Leonardo da Vinci” in Milan, specially realized for the exhibition “Elisabetta Sirani” in Bologna, in collaboration with the Laboratorio delle Idee and the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia “Leonardo da Vinci”.

·November 29 th, 2005:
Special evening with two-hundred guests. The art historian Martina degl’Innocenti held the speech on Artemisia Gentileschi and her works. Following dinner sponsored by Deutsche Bank, in occasion of the opening of their new office in Verona

·April 19 th, 2006:
Private view of the exhibition “il Diavolo del focolare” guided by the curator Claudia Gianferrari, collateral event of Cosmit 2006, organized by Cosmit at the Triennale of Milan.

·November 21 st, 2007 :
Presentation of the exhibition “Art of Women from Renaissance to Surrealism”and of the works loaned by the NMWA, organized at the Società del Giardino of Milan and cured by Dott. Stefano Zuffi, art historian and Committee member of the Amici del NMWA. Conference for two-hundred people attending, cocktail reception.

·November 29 th, 2007:
Lecture at the Università Statale degli Studi di Milano “Women Artists from Renaissance to Modern Age” by Beatrice Ferrario, art historian, Amici del NMWA coordinator.

·Until the 6th of april 2008
(end of the exhibition “Art of Women from Renaissance to Surrealism”)
Guided tours assisted by art historians, eventually introduced by conferences with slides, and also with fund raising purposes on behalf of the Association Amici del NMWA, in agreement with Artematica and Palazzo Reale.

FUTURE EVENTS:

·2008: project “Cocktail receptions in the Museums”.
Subjected to sponsorship.
Conference and cocktail reception in the Milano Museums which host one or more feminine works of art.

·2009: “Four Sesons”.
Subjected to sponsorship.
“Four Seasons” is the invitation - with singular contribution - to a special evening, (January, April, end of June, October) for Associates and their Guests, with different offers following the Season, and a dinner in a selected restaurant with thematic menu.
Possible proposals:
Winter: possible projection of a movie, with conference of the director/main
actress/Phtography director/costumist….
Spring: possible guided tour with an Art Historician, could be outside the city.
Summer: possible musical concert in the cloisters of Museo Diocesano,
of the Church of San Simpliciano, of the Società Umanitaria.
Fall: possible guided tour with an Art Historician, could be outside the city.

·2009: project “City of the Duchessess”.
The realization is subjected to the number of participants.
Guided tour with an Art historician for Associates and their Guests, departure from Milan and come back in the evening, or at least one night out.
Ideation of the Amici del NMWA, organization by a conventioned travel office.
First possible proposals:
The Milan of Beatrice d’Este (wife of Ludovico il Moro)
The Mantua of Isabella Gonzaga,
The Ferrara of Lucretia Borgia
